FAQs
Why does the recipe have a copper supplement if it also contains liver?
Most animal livers are a good source of copper and no additional supplementation is needed. However, even though pork liver is high in copper, studies have shown that it has low bioavailability and is not readily absorbed by the body.
Thatâs why our pork recipe contains a small amount of additional copper to make sure your pets are getting the right amount of this important nutrient! In addition, we use copper proteinate which is a much more bioavailable form compared to the more commonly used copper sulfate.
Can feeding pork lead to parasite infections like trichinosis?
Trichinella spiralis is a parasite that can infect pigs if they consume meat scraps that harbor the parasite. It can be a concern when consuming wild game but the parasite is virtually eliminated in commercial pork. The USDA has strict guidelines to prevent Trichinella in commercial pork which includes:
- Biosecure Housing: Pigs are raised in closed barns or controlled housing that prevent exposure to rodents and wildlife which are carriers of Trichinella .Â
- Heat Treated, All Vegetarian Feed: Trichinella is commonly transmitted through consuming infected meat so an all vegetarian diet eliminates that risk. The feed is also heat treated to kill any parasite larvae. Â
- Regular Audits & Inspections: Farms are regularly audited by 3rd parties to ensure compliance with Trichinella safety measures.
Finally, all of our ingredients & recipes are stored frozen at 0F for over 20 days which is shown to be effective against the parasite.
Will the pork recipe be too high in fat?
Since we often find ourselves enjoying a nice slice of bacon or pork belly, itâs natural to wonder if there would be too much fat in our pork recipes for your pet. Our pork recipe actually ranks right in the middle amongst our recipes at around 6-6.5% minimum fat and this all comes down to the cuts weâre sourcing! Weâre using lean, high quality pork meat which provides a healthy amount of fat for your pets.

Kitten loves Viva!
He absolutely loves Viva Raw! Even the beef, which I thought maybe he wouldnât like. Heâs a great eater! Now at almost 6 months, his fur is so soft and shiny because of being on a raw diet. The meat is very fresh, well packaged, and came completely frozen.

Cat loves it!
My 6 months old ragdoll absolutely loves his raw diet so much! I bought beef, duck and rabbit for him, he can always finish his meal in two minutes!!! Delivery is super fast too! I live in the bay area, I usually submit an order on Monday and get the food on Wednesday! Will definitely order for more!

Excellent product
My Bengal cats insist on monthly orders. The only raw they like. Definitely impressed with quality of food. Feels good to know they are getting the best raw.
